RuneQuest is a classic fantasy RPG published first by Chaosium integrally with their non-conventional fantasy setting, Glorantha. It is now published by Mongoose.
RuneQuest's simple and direct mechanics were later modified into a generic fantasy RPG, RuneQuest III and a general-purpose RPG, Basic Role Playing. Essentially the same system has been released as System Reference Document (SRD) by Mongoose under the Open Gaming Licence (OGL)
