A sort of prequel to Mage: the Ascension, Mage: the Sorcerers' Crusade is about mages in the Renaissance. As the sciences burgeon, magic is still a powerful force to be reckoned with. The Order of Reason appoints itself as the defender of the peasantry against the nobility of Europe and elitist magi.
